about maplewood
Maplewood rests inside a lovingly tended 1900s house in Old Southwest Roanoke, at the corner of Maple & Woods Ave. It’s a place where creativity and calm drift through the rooms, where stillness and music whisper on the same breath, and where we can all gather to embrace life. The garden out back — with its stage, sunlight, full trees and open space — invites deep breaths, wandering feet, and playful, shared moments. Maplewood has an old and unique energetic signature — we are honored to be here now through the generosity of The Ronny Marks Trust.
“This space holds a spirit of care. I’m honored to welcome you into it.”
At Maplewood we believe healing is a multi‑layered, creative, and deeply personal experience. Our offerings — from reiki and meditation to sound journeys, kirtan, essential oils, massage, and live music — are designed to support every part of yourself. Each modality invites you to slow down, reconnect, and experience the restorative power of community.
We honor the wisdom of the body, the tenderness of the heart, and the power of the mind through many different traditions, all within a sense of community. Whether you come for stillness, movement, sound, spiritual connection, or just to have some fun, Maplewood offers a nurturing space to explore what healing and balance means for you.

While the studios upstairs offer quiet, dedicated space for deeper individual work, there are two large rooms downstairs, a kitchen and the backyard garden that we use for shared groups, workshops, classes, retreats and entertainment. If you have an idea for an event or offering that you would like to host or attend, please let us know!
